Course Information

This course is completed over a minimum 6-month period with a range of online learning, assignment writing and in-person classes. 
Infection Control and Prevention for Cosmetic, Aesthetic and Needle Related Treatments
Professional Practice for Aesthetic Practitioners 
Anatomy and Physiology for Advanced Aesthetic Practice  
Principles and Practice of Microneedling Treatments 
Principles and Practice of Chemical Peel Treatments
Principles and Practice of Injectable Skin Boosters
Models
No models are required for this course. Students will work upon each other to give & receive treatments. If you have any contra-indications that prevent you from having a treatment you will need to contact the academy and arrange your own model
You will need to bring:

Your pre-study notes.
Pen and paper, if you wish to take notes
You can bring your own lunch but we are in a city centre so there are options nearby

Kits:
No kit is included in the course fee. All products / tools required to complete this course as provided at the centre for your use on the training day. Guidance will be given on the day by the tutor about products / suppliers we recommend.
Insurance Requirements
Many insurers will require you to have completed an OFQUAL regulated qualification to enable them to provide cover to deliver these advanced treatments.
The requirements to cover you for advanced facial treatments can vary by insurer, so we suggest confirming these with your chosen insurer before booking your training.

Course information and entry criteria

Accepted Answer

This course is best suited for people who hold a level 4 recognised qualification and may already be carrying out facial treatments.
This course is also suitable for Level 3 Beauty Therapists who have 5 years industry experience (see our level 7 pathway options) Nurses and medical professionals who are looking to get started in the aesthetics field and hold a qualification at level 4 or above. 
This qualification is also suitable for existing aesthetic practitioners who already have 3 years’ experience in carrying out these treatments and wish to upgrade to an Ofqual regulated qualification. (see our level 7 pathway options) 
This course is suitable for people who wish to progress onto level 7 Aesthetics qualifications and is an essential pre requisite.
Pre Requisites for this course a minimum level 4 Anatomy & Physiology qualification or industry related experience as stated above is equivalent. If you do not have this pre-requisite, please contact the academy to discuss your learning options with a tutor.
You will also be required to hold a level 3 certificate in First Aid at Work.
During this course you will learn-

Understand how to control non-infectious and infectious risk.
Understand the professional standards in place for aesthetic practitioners.
Understand how to promote diversity and inclusion as an aesthetic practitioner.
Understand how to work with healthcare professionals as an aesthetic practitioner.
Understand an aesthetic practitioner’s safeguarding duties.
Understand the anatomy and physiology of the integumentary system, the head and neck, the circulatory system and the nervous system. 
Understand the pathology associated with allergic reactions.
Understand the process of wound healing.
Understand the principles and practice of microneedling, chemical peel and skin booster treatments
Carry out microneedling, chemical peel and skin booster treatments.

Aspects Academy is located within Colchester city centre. The Academy is found inside one Colchester’s longest running Beauty Salon’s Aspects MediSpa.

The nearest parking to the academy is –

St Johns multistorey carpark- Aspects Academy is less than 5 minute walk away
An alternative is St Marys- Aspects academy is an 8 minute walk away

Train stations –

Colchester Town station- This is a smaller station that trains from the main station connect to. Services may be limited.
Colchester North Station- This is the main train station and is about a 20 minute walk (buses to the town centre are available from the station as well as a taxi rank. Uber also is available in Colchester)

Bus Station –

Aspects academy is located opposite the main bus station.
