Emergency First Aid At Work

The ProQual Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work provides a nationally recognised qualification for those wishing to carry out an emergency first aider role in the workplace.

Aspects Academy is conveniently located in the heart of Colchester city centre, housed within one of the city’s longest-standing beauty salons, Aspects MediSpa.

Our training is conducted in a fully equipped, purpose-built space, ensuring the highest standards of education and treatment are met.

Aspects Academy is an approved centre for delivering both accredited courses and government recognised qualifications.

This a full day course and includes part theory and some hands on practical simulation on mannequins.

Students must be able to demonstrate basic CPR and pass a written test by the end of the course to achieve first aid status.

Models: No models are required for this course. Students will work upon each other to simulate an emergency situation.

You will need to bring:

  • Your pre-study notes.
  • Pen and paper, if you wish to take notes
  • You can bring your own lunch but we are in a city centre so there are options nearby

Kits:

No kit is included in the course fee. All products / tools required to complete this course as provided at the centre for your use on the training day. Guidance will be given on the day by the tutor about products / suppliers we recommend.

During this course you will learn :

  • The role and responsibilities of a First Aider.
  • How to assess and respond to an incident.
  • Provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty.
  • Provide first aid to a casualty by administering Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Provide first aid to a casualty who is choking.
  • Provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding.
  • Provide first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock.
  • Provide first aid to a casualty with minor injuries.

Insurance Requirements

Many insurers will require you to have completed an OFQUAL regulated qualification to enable them to provide cover to deliver advanced aesthetic treatments.

The requirements to cover you for advanced aesthetics treatments can vary by insurer, so we suggest confirming these with your chosen insurer before booking your training.

This qualification is essential for anyone wanting to progress onto a career in aesthetics and is an essential pre-requisite for students undertaking the ProQual Level 6 & 7 Aesthetic Practice-related qualifications.

Aspects Academy is located within Colchester city centre. The Academy is found inside one Colchester’s longest running Beauty Salon’s Aspects MediSpa.

Train stations –

  • Colchester Town station- This is a smaller station that trains from the main station connect to. Services may be limited.
  • Colchester North Station- This is the main train station and is about a 20 minute walk (buses to the town centre are available from the station as well as a taxi rank. Uber also is available in Colchester)

Bus Station –

  • Aspects academy is located opposite the main bus station.

About this course

The ProQual Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work provides a nationally recognised qualification for those wishing to carry out an emergency first aider role in the workplace. This qualification is designed to address the requirements set out in the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

This qualification would be suitable for people who wish to carry out an emergency first aider role within a voluntary organisation, or for delivery to the general public to provide fundamental, potentially lifesaving, first aid knowledge and skills. This qualification is essential for students looking to train in Aesthetics who have no previous experience or background to help gain the underpinning knowledge of basic first aid.

This qualification has been developed in line with the national requirements for first aid qualifications, Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines and the best practice set out by the First Aid Awarding Organisation Forum.
